From Director:

As an educator and research scientist, my goal has been to link cutting-edge research to real-world applications. For the past 15 years, this motivation has led me to create inquiry-and design-based curricula for middle and high school science classrooms, incorporating Material Science concepts to real-world design experiences. My aim is to impact the world through science education.

Today, nanoscale science and engineering (NSE) is at the nexus of cutting-edge research and technology. In 2004, NSF funded the National Center for Learning and Teaching in Nanoscale Science and Engineering (NCLT). NCLT is designed to build capacity in Nanoscale Science and Engineering Education (NSEE), and aims to equip future generations by advancing science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education.

I am delighted to work with a strong team of experts in the fields of science, engineering, learning sciences, education and technology. Our NCLT team is here to serve the greater NSEE community and will work together with you to help raise the bar of STEM education both nationally and internationally. These collaborations and networking will benefit and build leadership in STEM education, technology, commerce and industry, as well as science policy and education systems.

I encourage you to explore our website and the NSE educational resources within the NanoEd Resource Portal.

R.P.H. Chang,
Director
